FAQS

What is Home Health Care?

Home health care is a term that describes health care services that can be provided within the home. Such services can range from needing a nurse or therapist following surgery to assistance with basic daily needs such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.

What is Hospice Care?

Hospice is a philosophy of care focused on pain and symptom management rather than curative treatment while offering both emotional and spiritual support to clients and their families.

What Should I Consider When Choosing a Home Health or Hospice Agency?

  • How long has the agency been in business?
Home Health & Hospice Care of Nursing Placement has been serving Rhode Island since 1976.
  • Is the agency licensed, bonded and insured?
Nursing Placement is fully licensed, bonded, and insured and is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program.
  • What levels of services can the agency provide?
Not all agencies are the same in terms of the types of services they are licensed to provide. At Home Health & Hospice Care of Nursing Placement we provide a full continuum of care that includes Skilled Services, Home Health & Homemaker Services and Hospice Care, giving you the peace of mind to know that as your health care needs change, your caregivers won’t.

What Can I expect on the First Visit?

A qualified nurse or therapist will visit your home and will conduct a thorough evaluation and assessment to develop a comprehensive plan of care tailored specifically to your health care needs.

Who Pays for Home Care Services?

If you qualify, Medicare may pay for home health care services, provided your physician certifies that you need these services.

Services may also be covered under private insurances or through a state’s Medicaid program, or you may choose to pay privately for services.
